I would not be so severe with the designers of the Sun.
Currently the stable EESDR version is 1.2 and it works fine. The 1.3, as it is clearly written on the web page, is based on the new version of Qt. This introduces lots of software modifications and improvements but also structural bugs that must be solved before going on with new features. While it seems the development is slowed down, actually EESDR will have a longer life.
Consider EESDR is the only real multiplatform SDR system, it is free and it has nice features that begin where all other rigs end (think about TCI interface for example).
Well, it still misses some useful features, but what is the perfect rig out there?
I don't like to make comparisons, but also every other rig needs additional software to get its best. In addition for that rigs you have to pay for new sw releases or you have to settle for a free but obsolete interface. Really I can't see the point.

I understand but.... If we are to test the beta versions, they at least need to be usable. Bugs are one thing but I don't want to test software that makes my MB1 a lessor unit. And I believe beta testers are needed.

So we are now on Beta 7. Anyone MB1 user with ITU Region recognition issues or lack of 60m / 11m can be assured that the problem is known and in hand.

Users spent a total of 8 man hours testing and advising on changes to pre-release ESDR2 Beta 7 to bring the receiver performance in line with 1.2.0 and have more or less succeeded. The severe loss of AGC-T will have to be accepted if you want to use 1.3

Only 8 man hours? What is that about?

Notch filter demo shows the new feature is well implemented in software. Well done. I hope there will be a hardware link to the TNF button in the MB1, by firmware update perhaps.

hi all
i was still on 1.2 version and updated to the final 1.3 yesterday.
looked good on the first view but then ... ...
1.3 does not save different vac-gains in the different profiles ! .. not usable for me. :nea:
It is disappointing that such an important function was not implemented or do i something wrong ??
rolled back to 1.2

You do nothing wrong. There is a bug. I just tested it.

The entries exist in the profiles as below but there must be something amiss. My VAC RX gain in my normal profile is -40 and in a different profile below it is set at -35 but when I select that profile, the one that contains the entries you see, VAC gain remains at -40 and does not change to -35 as it should.

[SunSDR2_VAC0]
vac_driver=2
vac_rx_name=@ByteArray(Line Out (Virtual Cable 1))
vac_tx_name=@ByteArray(Line 2 (Virtual Cable 2))
vac_rx=0
vac_tx=4
vac_sampleRate=6
vac_bufferSize=5
vac_latency=0
vac_rx_gain=-35
vac_tx_gain=-9
vac_enable=true

You can enable the 11М band by changing the itu.ini file (change false on true) (C:\Users\User_Name\AppData\Local\Expert Electronics\ExpertSDR2).

Not a bug apparently, it was always like this. But now the settings are saved and there are other fixes and changes in 1.3.1 Beta 1 (see download sections for each product). This version also has the new Notch Filter implementation.

Hello
with version 1.3.1 beta 1, there is a beug with AGC for FM modulation (0db), it drifts much too much, and there is also a problem with micro gain settings

Hello Rome
with version 1.3.0 beta 6 or another version with maximum amplitude AGC 0db FM, my power amp is stable with modulation.

with version 1.3.1 beta 1 and the same configuration in FM, my power on the amp varies from 80 watts with the modulation.
I think the 0db CAG in FM is poorly calibrated

I send you the video by email
