I would not be so severe with the designers of the Sun.
Currently the stable EESDR version is 1.2 and it works fine. The 1.3, as it is clearly written on the web page, is based on the new version of Qt. This introduces lots of software modifications and improvements but also structural bugs that must be solved before going on with new features. While it seems the development is slowed down, actually EESDR will have a longer life.
Consider EESDR is the only real multiplatform SDR system, it is free and it has nice features that begin where all other rigs end (think about TCI interface for example).
Well, it still misses some useful features, but what is the perfect rig out there?
I don't like to make comparisons, but also every other rig needs additional software to get its best. In addition for that rigs you have to pay for new sw releases or you have to settle for a free but obsolete interface. Really I can't see the point.
