Hello Fellows!
Well all programs changed much and i am using so far again version MB1 sw.1.20 with 1809 , because also M2 clone doesnt work so far ..
Installed Win10 1903 fresh to other Samsung EVO Plus which have notiseable speed increase comparing older EVO970....
Also there was big job again to install 1.3 beta6 which so far dont give accessto PC and NB1 speaker buttons...so sound is terrible from computer
Like get final 1.3 version soon..
Hopefully other companies fix diskcopy programs up to date soon.
Also like to get updated Firmware for MB1 bios .. was it going now version F14 or...which doesnt go in MB...
Please update me if anyone have more information?

If you are on the original F5 BIOS and motherboard, you can upgrade to F6, which is necessary if you want to install a i7-7700T CPU. Later updates provide no additional functionality with that motherboard. The link for the instructions is still at www.dropbox.com/s/9iclfjn36zsw4n7/BIOS.zip?dl=0

Windows 10 with the latest upgrade has worked fine so far.
Yet I tried to install Software Defined Connectors on my MB1 and it doesn't even load.
The program is installed but it will not load because I checked the task manager and nothing.

So I tried it on another windows 10 machine and it loads and it runs. But this computer is a non ham application computer.
And this computer has the latest update also.
So why does it load on the non ham computer and not on the MB1 computer?
The program just won't run.
I have written an email to Yuri at NSI last evening. Hoping to hear something.
I don't think it's a windows thing, but it could be windows 10 is setup differently on the MB1 vs my other computer.
Good luck with what you are trying to accomplish.

Hi Arno,

Do not try to update BIOS further than F6 if you have an MB1 from 2016/17. The procedure will not work and you will have a problem getting BIOS working again. If you have a 2018/2019 MB1, you can upgrade BIOS but I do not know if all of the updates can be done. As I understand it, there is no additional functionality so it is not worth the risk. I do note your question about other M2 SSDs and I do not know the answer but if you specifically name the SSD in a support ticket on the Gigabyte website you should get your answer. It is a long time since I communicated with Gigabyte but they used to be very helpful.

Regarding speaker, ensure MB1 Utility is running. If that is not the problem, I recommend an email direct to Roman. He is very helpful. I believe he may be on holiday for the next 2 weeks - someone else may respond or else wait until August.

Regarding SDC, 'Spotters' activate either manually or when SDC connects to a logbook. It is explained in the SDC user help file. If you need help with translation, let me know.

Erik.

Arno,
I was able to install SDC about a year or so ago. But decided I didn't want to use it, so I deleted it. Now I would like to try it again. But trying to find an older version may be difficult. I don't have an email address for UT4LW or I would write him. I have one of Erik's older addendum's but the link tells me the file is no longer available. I am following the directions on how to install it, but for some reason it just won't work on the MB1 but does on my other computer. That's what confuses me the most. If it didn't work on either, than it could possibly be the new version of Windows 10. But I have eliminated that from the equation.

The latest version of SDC is 12.001 and is available at www.dropbox.com/s/e08iorriniwt5o5/SDC_12_setup.zip?dl=0 if you do not have this one.

The download link is correct in the latest UMA.

Are you sure it is F2? It is F5 or F6 isn't it?

Although, according to Gigabyte, BIOS F1 to F7 are no longer available. There might be alternative sources but personally I would not trust them. You can reflash with F9 which can be downloaded from Gigabyte. The instructions are on the Forum.

Hello
The card is an MDH11KI-SI. I downloaded bios F8 and F9 but can not flash the bios, I wonder if the cards are compatible?
I would like to know where the F6 bios come from for the MDH11HI-SI card?

Are you doing it via the DOS formatted USB stick method?

All BIOS F1-F7 including F6, according to Gigabyte are old and discontinued. Each were available on the website but now are not. It should not matter, though raising your own support ticket with them will get a conclusive response.

By the way, if the BIOS is corrupted (you only state 'beug' which is not a word I understand), it is only a possibility that you can flash it (and you have to use the DOS method). Usually, though not necessarily, flashing will not work and the preferable method is to reset it. There 2 main methods to try:

Reset CMOS Memory Using the Jumper:

Power down the PC.

Locate the rocker-style switch at the back of the MB1, and switch it to the off position.

Open the case (top only|) and locate the 3-pin jumper on the motherboard near the power supply, typically labeled "clear cmos" or "reset bios."

Remove the jumper from the default position, which is typically connecting the 1st and 2nd pins. Wait one minute.

Replace the jumper to connect the 2nd and 3rd pins.

Push the power button on the front of the MB1 once and wait one minute.

Return the jumper to its default position, connecting the 1st and 2nd pins.

Move the rocker-style switch at the back of the MB1 to the on position.

Power on the MB1 with its front power button.

Reset the CMOS Memory by Replacing the Battery

Power down the PC. Unplug and remove the power cord from the MB1.

Open the computer case (top panel again) and look for a button battery, which is usually bigger than the ones in a watch.

Remove the battery for for ten minutes (it has a connector on the end of a lead)

Replace the battery and power up the computer.

Attempt to access BIOS. This method may restore the CMOS memory to the default setting and allow access to the BIOS.

Let us know exactly the state of the BIOS and how it came to be in this state. A more targeted help response can then be given.

Erik.

Hi Erik
Got finally copied my original WDC ssd to new versio 970 Evo Pro 500Gb disc :so_happy: and in fact it runs faster and cooler as older Evo 1 Gb 970 which was pretty hot.
I copied it wit my other PC Which have 2 NVME slot (Asus Z390-HGaming)
Well have spent lot time fo figure out, why disccopy to older Evo970 didnt work...
There is no better Gigabyte MB for MB1 use...

Byt anyway diskmark is now 18668.1 made with Pcmark v9 .Old was 3430.7!!! with Pcmark 9.0,, quess was with 970 Evo ?
Difference is huge! :so_happy:

Have now SDR2 V1.2 and will stay on it so long as this 1.3 is maybe going to be work...
