I have an MB1 Prime 2021 and wanted to know if I could use a ColibriDDC OR ColibriNANO as a second receiver and ADC to have true diversity reception within ESDR2 or ESDR3? Where when I tune around the bands I could have the MB1 receiver on ANT1 in the left channel and a Colibri on ANT 2 in the Right channel?

Is this possible and if not could it be possible in a future version of ESDR3?

Thanks
John
Transceiver: MB1 Prime 2021
HF Amplifier: Ameritron AL-1200
HF Antennas:10-80 Vertical, 10-80 Fan Dipole
VHF Antenna: Commet GP-9

Hi, John.
At the moment it's impossible.
Maybe it could be implemented at some point in the future, BUT not any time soon and not 100%.
It should have a sample to sample accuracy with sync on a hardware level, which is very complicated for 2 different devices.

In a perfect world, it should be a 2 ADC device.

Thank you Roman for the quick answer.
If it could be done in software that would be great.
If not maybe a possible upgrade board for the MB1 that has 2 ADC’s?

Thanks

John,
Too early to discuss potential board replacement, but I'd say it's a no 99.99999%

OK. I love my MB1 it has performed flawlessly since I received it a year ago.
I have experimented with the beta ESDR3 and I am excited to see how much progress your team has made in such a short time. I think ESDR3 with TCI will be the finest SDR software available!

One last question could I use a SDR2dx as the second ADC by using and external 10mhz as the master clock driving both radios? If this could work not only would I have 2 independent ADC’s but 2 transmitters for true SO2R!

John,
Thanks, that is where we are aiming at)) to be the best
0.12.0 will make another leap, I'm sure, we just need to wait another couple of weeks.

Regarding your second point, yes, in theory, that is how it should be done, both ADC should be clocked from a single 10mhz oscillator and synced in perfect unison.
We'll have to do lots of tests to make sure it's possible, though as I said in the meantime we have many other tasks at hand.
