TOPIC: tci support in flrig

tci support in flrig 03 Jun 2023 15:43 #1

The latest version of flrig (www.w1hkj.com) supports both SunSDR2 and SunSDR Pro using the TCI protocol.

The most recent TCI protocol, 1.9, does not contain a reference to RX_SMETER:arg1,arg2,arg3. But the command works as.

request: RX_SMETER:arg1,arg2; arg1 = Rx #, arg2 = channel
reply: RX_SMETER;arg1, arg2,arg3; arg1 = Rx #, arg2 = channel, arg3 = value
value: dBm, +80; -125

Please confirm and tell software developers whether there any other missing commands from the 1.9 TCI document.

Thank you
David, W1HKJ

Hello David.
1. If a certain software support TCI protocol, it means it supports all our devices.
2. There is no such command (RX_SMETER) in the latest TCI 1.9. Most likely, you are talking about TCI in ExpertSDR2?
That is correct behavior for older TCI version, the third argument is not mandatory.
Client requests two arguments and Server replies with three if possible.
3. With the release of ExpertSDR3, we've made a lot of changes to the TCI protocol.
ExpertSDR3 1.0.4 Beta uses TCI 1.9.
ExpertSDR2 1.3.1 still uses TCI 1.4.

Hello Stan.
It wasn't required from the start, all operation was handled via the VFO A.
It's possible in theory to add control of the VFO B, if you want it then please file a request on the GitHub page.
