Hi, I am unable to trigger an Acom 1000. I am not using a control cable. I am using a simple phono cable to the amp from PTT. Not triggering the amp. Anyone using the Acom series in this manner? Help is very much appreciated. What should be simple is turn out to be a frustrating experience. I'm sure it's something simple and I have researched the manual. Thank you.

Hello Doug, I use this cable to drive my ACOM 1000 with my SunSDR2 pro or DX .sunsdr.eu/product/ptt-out-cable-for-sunsdr2-pro-qrp-mb1/

Doug I use an Acom 1000

You need to use pin 13 and 15 on the back of the radio in the EXTR connector.

pin 13 goes to center pin of phono plug and pin 15 goes to the outside/shell

In the EESDR software YOU DO NOT CONFIGURE anything in regards to the AMP

but you must make sure that you enable the PA button in the upper left top section of the software that will turn on the in assignments-
I have been using this method since i got Rig and Amp and had no issues in it keying the Acom

I did add a 2ms delay on triggering the pa key line-

Email me good on qrz if you need more info or help

Thanks Patrick for the info. I just ordered the cable from Giga Parts. Do I need to do anything other than connect the cable. I'm using a Heil 751 mic with the adaptor cable to MIC2 on the front. The adaptor has a foot switch jack to key the radio.

Thanks Rick, I was going to build the cable, but ordered it instead. Guess I'm getting old. Good to know that something is simple for a change. If I have any issues, I'll get back to you.

There is an identical cable that also runs a fan to keep the SDR cool.

Dave there is no sperate or special cable for the SunSDr2DX to control the fan

The fan is controlled via the firmware within radio and a temperature senor that activates and throttles the fan speed as need by temperature

the Fan cable DOES not attach to the external connector on the SDR2DX is is included with the radio and already attached

Doug,
you should be in good shape,

You can use the Heil adapter PT or I prefer using the 1/4 jack in the rear of radio and a footswitch to trigger radio - just make sure once you have the AMP Keyline cable that you select the PA option in the software ( top left in the EESDR application) that will allow the signal to pass to the external connector on pines 13 and 15 and send that to the ACOM , just plug that into the ACOM RCA/Phono KEY In jack on the rear- DO NOT plug it into the Key Out JACK. Let me know if you have questions
