Dear OMs,

I have a stability problem of CAT connection between RIG and logging programs. Configured ExpertSDR and Win-Test with VSP (Eltima drivers), but it hangs after some time. Tried on 5 other computers (Win10 and Win7) with SunSdr2 PRO and DX, also with several virtual serial port simulations. The same results are with N1MM and DXLog.net. Only restart of the ExpertSDR helps. Any idea?

Regards

Hello,
What I am using?:
- Software: com0com, SDC, and ExpertSDR2
- Configuration of com0com : create 2 pairs of comports,
- Configuration of SDC: In the TCI Tab, add 2 rig-emulators (1 CAT to RX1 - connected to 1 pair). Configure speed to 57600... The second rig-emulator PTT to RX1 to the other pair. Select RTS or DTR for activation,
- Configuration of ExpertSDR: in the the TCI tab: check that TCI is active.
- In SDC connect the TCI client, save of configuration and now you can connect at the other end of the pairs:
- Software with cat control (use TS480 protocol) Note that cat control should be also omnirig (V1 for log4om or V2 for other version)
- Software with PTT (RTS or DTR) at the end of the second pair.
- You can add other com for the RX2 for example.
Remarque N1MM can use the TCI connection directly, so it's easier to configure. With SDC, you will have many options like DX spot needed, dupe,... on the panadapter. Skimmer directly on the panadapter and many others...

I shall also be interested to see his explanation of that too, Andrea. Almost all of the F5MXH posting is misleading because everything he does can be done in a much less convoluted way. N1MM does not have the ability to access ESDR2 via TCI. There are two "bridge" programs to convert UDP from N1MM to TCI input, as explained in the UMA. But let's not pre-judge and await the N1MM with TCI description - Tom N1MM will be highly intrigued.
