I purchased my SDR2 Pro about two months ago. I am replacing my K3 s line with an SDR2 DX but first tried the lesser expensive Pro. First, I am experiencing, so far, two issues. First, the radio will randomly shut off during a QSO. What might be causing that? Second, the stations being spotted are not on the correct, or exact frequency. They are about 3 Khz low. Are there any fixes for these problems. The SunSDR2 Pro will be my back up radio. Thank you Craig W9OD

Hello Craig.
1. Please provide ful info about your setup. There are could be lots of reasons for this issue.
-PC specs
-What third-party SW do you use?
-What ExpertSDR version?
-How TRX is connected to PC?
Try suggestions presented here github.com/ExpertSDR3/ExpertSDR3-BUG-TRACKER/discussions/118

2. You can adjust frequency coefficient in the software, check the UM, section 5.7.1.6 Expert

ITEM 2 could be caused by whatever node you are using ESP if you're using DIGU or DIGL, in the software there is a frequency offset for DIGU mode set that to "0". also are you talking about when you SPOT or is you click on a spot and the rig goes to that frequency- , it is also possible depending on what application you're using there is an offset as well in it.

But for Rome posting a quick check, tune to one of the WWV frequencies (make sure it is a good signal) and put rig in AM mode- listen to the tones are they ZERO beat?

If not, you will need to adjust the freq coefficient to set this too zero beat

I am using a MacBook Pro computer with Mac Logger DX. The MLDX recognizes the radio, frequency only. I put the addresses of skimmers from MLDX into the skimmer of the SDR2 software. As mentioned, they are about 3 KHz low.

I am working my way around the software, and also want to try FT8, I realize I need to get a VAC software program to communicate with the radio and WSJTX. I do operate almost 100% CW.

Thank you for you help, oh, I really love this radio, I am going to sell my Elecraft gear and buy a SUNSDR2 DX. I will user the Pro as a backup.

Craig
Try JTDX for FT8 without needing virtual audio or serial cables. JTDX communicates by TCI.

You can also configure JTALERT for JTDX.

Craig,

You didn't mention the PC you are using.
The minimum requirements are:
4 core CPU Intel Core i3 or Core i5
8 GB RAM
