I just received the new E-Coder 2 in the mail and went right to testing it.
When I connect it to either a Linux or a Windows 10 machine, the device is being recognized (dmesg and lsusb both show the device, in Windows it shows in the device list as well). However, and I don't know if this is normal, no light comes on. There is no indication visible or audible, that the E-Coder 2 is actually working. Also, neither on Linux nor on Windows 10, neither with ExpertSDR2 or 3 (both latest version), I can get the panel to run. I can configure and activate it, but it doesn't do anything. There are no lights, no audio, no reaction to inputs, no detected audio devices, and ExpertSDR3 does not show any connected E-Coders.
With no manual available, I don't even know if this behaviour is normal and I'm just missing something. I don't know if this is a hardware or software issue. To me it feels as if the USB interface is the only part of it working and everything else is dead.
Did I receive a bad sample and should I return it?
I had the same problem with e-coder 2 ans eesdr2. I had to get the newest rease of eesdr2 und update the firmware oft the SunSDR2 DX and it worked.
But I do not have any audio while transmitting, so I have no CW-sidetone (phones at the e-coder 2).
