Everyone has a right to their opinion I suppose?
I have had two and found them to be just fine and I am now waiting for the newest version to come to the UK.
They just work so good luck in finding one. Second hand ones do appear from time to time on the two UK amateur Radio "for sale" sites, perhaps its worth placing a wanted ad there?
I tried to find a Used one for sale on the forum and FB page, to no avail. I bought a new E Coder Plus from ML&S; it is pricey for what it is, but I don't regret it.
I agree with Ray, I have found nothing at all wrong with the quality.
