Hello all.

I will be wiring up an external preamp to be triggered from my SunSDR2 DX's external control. I see that a diode is required when using the external control to engage a relay directly.

If I'm using an opto-isolated relay like the one in the example below, should I still put a diode? I will not be connecting the VCC to the Power SDR's +12v line. I plan to only connect the "data in" and ground to the PowerSDR.

The diode is required for the inductive load. If you control the relay directly from the SUNSDR the diode would be mandatory.

Thank you Sir! I assumed this was the case but wanted to be sure before trying it. These relays really seemed like a good choice for the purpose.
