Are there any advantages of upgrading the BIOS for us i7-6700T users?

Hi Tamas!
I am very happy for you!
Replacing the CPU should take even less of your time.

And now about the positive effect after the CPU upgrade from 6400T to 7700T.
1. The problem of the non-uniform speed of CW and uneven PTT delays in the N1MM program has been completely solved.
This is the most important thing for me.
"Drunk sailor" - so we call this unpleasant effect in Russian. And this effect is no more.

2.I connected two monitors to MB1: The first Samsung monitor is 4K 27 inches - directly to the video port MB1 and the second monitor is also Samsung, but with HD resolution through the USB-HDMI adapter.
It all works together with the N1MM program and the SDC with skimmers, plus the OM POWER OM-2000A + power amplifier control software and uses only 15-20% of the CPU load.I checked it during ARRL CW Contest 2019 and did not experience any problems. It was very comfortable.

Not really. The overclocked speed is only fractionally greater than that of the 6700T. For value for money - what you get for the cost of the 7700T if you already have the 6700T - is very low.

The 7700T is best suited to those who want to upgrade from the basic MB1 configuration but cannot source the 6700T.

I wrote a summary of the update in Hungarian because the devices are now available in Hungary.

I am very pleased with the lot of advice and much help.
I try to pass on my own language.

Have a nice day everyone

I also installed the modern PCI-E NVME SSD.
I chose WD Black NVME PC SN700.
Factory installation SSD - on the photo above.
New installed SSD - in the photo below.

I am expecting my new-to-me MB1 to arrive shortly. Since it is the original configuration (i5 CPU, 8GB RAM, 120GB SSD), I would like to upgrade it. I've got the new CPU and RAM already, but I have a question for those who have upgraded the SSD in their MB1:

1) What is the type of SSD required? In the photo two posts above, the two SSDs have different edge connectors. Is the two-slot original 120GB drive connector correct, or will the single-slot connector on the 500GB SSD also work?
2) Is a 500GB drive adequate for all anticipated needs, or would 1TB (or even larger) be preferable?

Thanks,
Stan N6BYU

It depends on your budget and required speed. But since you are wanting to upgrade, best is a NVMe M2 drive such as the Samsung 970 EVO or 970 EVO Plus.

The other type is called SATA and cannot match the same speeds because the motherboard has a bad bottleneck for this type of drive. Does that matter? Well, again it depends on usage but probably yes it does matter so I'd recommed MVMe M2 as per the UMA.

500GB is a lot of data. Unless you intend using the MB1 for a lot of non radio related activity, video file storage for example, I'd have though it would be more than sufficient.

Again, as per the UMA, I advocate having an external back-up drive and this can be the one with the huge capacity rather than spending your money on a very large primary drive.

friends ! I installed the i7-7700 processor in the transceiver, but I can't get a good parameter for the PASSMARK readings I have only 3162.6 at the same time here on the forum show the PASSMARK parameters equal to 4000 . I use the Gigabyte MDH11KI-SI BIOS version F9 motherboard . memory 8GB DDR4 SDRAM PC4-19200 . Maybe something needs to be configured in the BIOS ? according to the characteristics of my progessor I7-7000 differs only in the heat output of 65W in contrast to the protecessor I7-7700T. tell me what the problem is ?

Multiple problems:

a) Insufficient RAM. Allocate in BIOS maximum RAM to iGPU and have 16GB system RAM installed as minimum.

b) Slow disk drive installed using SATA instead of NVMe using the M2 slot.

c) i7-7700 processor is incorrect for the motherboard and will be throttled back to prevent damage. See compatible CPUs for the board on the Gigabyte website.

please tell me where the BIOS is located . Does the BIOS allocate the maximum amount of RAM for the built-in graphics core ?please tell me where the BIOS is located . Does the BIOS allocate the maximum amount of RAM for the built-in graphics core ? I looked at the parameters before installing I7-700 instead of I7-700T on the parameters of these processors are fully compatible, the differences are only in the thermal power of my processor power is 65W, and the processor I-7-7700t 35 W that's what they differ !

I think you are confusing the MDH11KI-SI as a mini itx board, which will run the 7700 and as an embedded board where the 7700t is required.

BIOS accessibility is achieved by the delete key at boot up. It does not by default allocate the maximum amount of RAM for the igpu. Search in BIOS for a setting called 'DVMT pre-allocated' and set it to maximum. You will need 16GB RAM otherwise what the igpu gains, the system as a whole will lose.

Eric! I'm not confused !I have an MDH11KI-SI Board installed www.gigabyte.com/Embedded-Computing/MDH11KI-rev-10/sp#sp
Processor I7-7700 in the description on the motherboard is written it supports processors of the 7th generation ! I have 8GB memory with one bar, I can't understand why I have such a small performance ? With regards to the option DVMT pre-allocated' i.e. switching 32,64, 128,256 MB , I have 64 ( it's the best option of on / off of the computer) also is the best pamer I have value PASSMARK parameters 3126
but I don't have a parameter equal to 4000
