I am having an issue with sending CW with my Begali Paddle. As far as I know I have not changed any settings with the software. But for some reason I get really super fast dits. The Dahs are OK but it just the dits. I have unplugged the cable from the back and replugged it in again. I have also shut the computer down and started it up again. When I try to send cw via N1MM everything is OK. So it's just a paddle thing. Does anyone have any hints of why this is happening?
Thanks!

Erik,
Yes that I do. Now I tried another paddle and it does the same thing. It just seems to me the Dits and also the Dahs are just way to fast. What is mind boggling is that there is no problem with N1MM. I thought that possibly the cable was bad or something. But now trying another paddle it does the same thing. Looking at ESDR2, there is break in , Iambic, Rev Paddle. And then break in, pitch, width and ramp. I played around with those numbers and it didn't really make much effect at all. I assume there is no other way of connecting a paddle to the MB1 other than the Jack in the back. It worked before, so don't understand why there is a problem now.

I thought of maybe one of the Windows updates, but I never had that problem before.

Hello Mark,

A Windows update is unlikely to affect it. With N1MM the control is outwith ESDR2 and there is no correlation. So, you would think that the issue is with ESDR2. But if iambic is set then there is another setting maladjusted. Initially you said the dahs were ok but now you have changed that to also the dahs are way too fast. So is it a speed and/or spacing issue? Are your Break-In menu attributes all at default settings? If not, I would return them to that state. Another trick is to temporarily rename the ESDR2 folder to something else and then start ESDR2 which will create a new Options file as if it was a clean install. Then see if the issue still exists. If it does, I cannot see that it can be the software. You can delete the newly made ESDR2 folder and put your old one back and everything will be preserved.

Erik,
I hate to ask the question but how do I get to the break in menu?
If I press Mic/F11 it brings up the settings but I don't see anything regarding default settings.

Hi Mark - no problem. Just click on Break-In in the computer GUI.

These are the default settings as well.

Erik,
I think I may have found the problem. I have connected an external CLRSpkr to a USB audio device which I have plugged into the front USB Jack. The setting in the sound card was Speakers USB Audio Device. I took out the USB Device and plugged the speaker wire into the Phones Jack with the proper cable adapter. I tried to send CW with both settings and I was getting the errors with the USB Jack, but not with the speaker connected to the Phones Jack and setting Speakers. Why that is causing a problem is anyone's guess. I know there is a speaker jack in the back. I normally don't use headphones unless I am doing some contesting. I guess I could get a dual converter for the phones jack in the front to accommodate not only the speaker but also a pair of headphones. That is weird!

That is strange indeed. I cannot see how one can affect the other but obviously it does. Maybe Roman will read this thread and have some idea. But at least you can solve it which is the main thing. Anyway thanks for the update.
