This weekend during CQWW 160m I've tried to use our RX system from our contest station (PX2A) and had some problems but I think it was my fault.
So, when I, talking about RX antenna im talking about the devices to connect into RX in and RX out from MB1 and not into antenna 02, 3 or 4 regular connector.
This time I've tried to use our Waller Flag from Top Beam (our friend Jose Carlos - N4IS). The antenna has a pre-amplifiers and a control box. From the pre-amp we have 2 cables to connect into Rx in and Rx out from Mb1.
I did not realize and remember before bring the radio to station that the rx in and out connector are the pigtail. So, Ive been using k3, yaesu etc and both have the regular UHF or BNC. So, I've tried to solve the problem but I failed. I should have to buy this connectors or adapters.
I gave up from contest after this situation even with a lot of transceivers on my way there.
During my tests I also read the manual and it was not so clear about the use of rx antenna on this way (rx in and rx out).
Ok, I need to connect the cables and go to config and check the rx in. Is it correct? There is another tip or configuration both on antenna connectors or the software?
As the K3 that we have a RX button we have a fast way to switch between rx antenna and the regular during a contact and not have to open a menu via software and change the config.
I did not find here in Brazil and in the other places people using the Rx antennas with MB1 from Rx In and out connectors.
Please, someone could share your experience?
Thanks for the answer.
I will try to find the adaptares and Enzo, I read the info from the link but its not related 100% with my point but helped.
So, the key point is connect the RX antenna to RX in and out from MB1 and change to DAC on software, right?
Im still have questions about the auto change or fast change between both antennas as K3, for instance. Only one button to push.
Lets try more.....
You do not have to use DAC. I have my RX antenna on another ANT input and then set it up in the ANT Switch. For fast change, use the GUI shortcut which is to the left of freequency display in the computer GUI. There you see a selection called RX HF. So normally my TX in ANT 1, RX is ANT2 but if I quickly want to check receive on the transmit antenna, I just select it from the down arrow.
If you using noise cancelling device, it works with a noise antenna on the same TX/RX input not a separate input (the function is to mix noise with the wanted signal out of phase to cancel) but I think this is not what you are asking about.
Again. Im very nervous!!!!
I made the coax to use with rx in and out and AGAIN did not work.
As I said before im using the waller flag antenna from N4IS and I not a simple antenna to connect to coax 2.
Pleaseguys from expert.
