GM,
I have the I7processor with 32GB of memory.
The only program that usually bottlenecks the computer is Swisslog.
But I have accepted that and use LogHX for normal logging and N1MM Plus for contest logging.
I noticed last evening when I did a control alt delete and looked under the tab performance that it was set to Normal.
Of course you can change that setting to high or lower than normal.
If I set it to high, will I see some sort of benefit to this while running EESDR2 as well as my logger?
I just wonder what additional heat is generated by the CPU if I do this?
I do not know what type of cooling is being used by the MB1 for the processor as well as the GPU.
Does anyone have any familiarity with this sort of thing?
Thanks!

The cpu are cooled as all Computer with a fan. set it to automatic in MB utilitus
How much cpu % do you see when it bottlenecks?

Unless someone knows differently, I think it is not possible to change the process priority and keep it for successive program launches. It reverts to how the program was designed and you would have to manually change the priority every time you ran it.

Normally in Windows OS, with 32Gb RAM and the spare capacity you have, it is better to direct RAM to graphics utilization. ESDR2 for example is very heavy on GPU resources. This is done in Windows > Setttings > Graphics settings where you can permanently set to high performance the EXE files that will most benefit.

Lars,
I opened the MB1 Utility and under the Fan Settings I have Off, Low, Middle, High and Turbo.
I do not see an automatic setting that would adjust the fan speed according to what the temperature is in the radio.
Of course the Version of MB1 Utility that I have is 1.1.2.
I looked under software and I don't see that there is a more current version of the Utility.
The date on this utility is 2015.

With "Hand Settings" deselected, the fan operation is automatic.

Further to the application notes above regarding graphics priority and the inability of Windows to save process priority, please note the following.

There is a 3rd party application called prio that is free to download. Once installed, it runs as a Windows Service automatically. It allows for permanent changes in process priority. I have been testing it with JTDX running with mutiple decoding cycles and with the jtdx process at 'Realtime'. There is small benefit and how worthwhile that is might depend on a number of local factors including, but not limited to, other CPU intensive software concurrently running and how essential it is to decode the highest number of responding stations and reduce the delay between ending the decoding cycles and sending the first transmission. For most users I am sure there may be no value but FT8/FT4 DXers might find a benefit from it.
