Hello,
someone can help me..?
I am looking for a CAT cable beetween SunSDR2pro CAT and OM-2000A+

First, I just have CAT working on my PC.
CAT on Sun SDR2Pro was configured on COM 11
With VSPE I SPLIT COM11 with COM16 (sharing CAT with all other software on the same PC)
and all this works correctly. :good:

Now I have to connect OM-2000A+ with PC where work ESSD
I try to connect COM2 (Hardware RS232 port) with OM-2000A+ (PC port)
With normal cable and also with NULL modem cable.
Try redirect with VSPE COM 16 to COM2 - Without success. :wall:
I'm not sure which port I need to use on the amplifier PC-TVCR or CONTROL

Someone have experience in this?
I think OM Power 2000A+ / 2500A / 4000A.... have the same connection port.

Thanks in advance for help.

You might have the COM16 <> COM2 pair round the wrong way in VSPE. Check it as per the example in the UMA. If you are not sure, take a screen shot of your VSPE GUI showing your configurations and post it here.

So this is my situation where:

ICOM IC-7600 CAT in PC port COM 3
PC port COM3 <spitter> to Virtual COM15
where CAT from ICOM was shared with all software......LOG....RTTY....WSJT ....ecc.....

With SunSDR2pro I have this:
CW on virtual port COM10
CAT on virtual port COM11
PTT on virtual port COM12
Virtual port COM11 <spitter> to Virtual COM16
where CAT from SDR was shared with all software......LOG....RTTY....WSJT ....ecc.....

All of this config work fine.....no problem........ :good:

Now my problem is to have CAT from SDR (Virtual COM11 or COM16)
also on hardware COM 2 - To send CAT command to the amplifier OM-2000A+
via RS232 cable.

Any solutions...??

Thanks in advance.

Hello Andrea,

I think you need the SDC COM spider feature: On port A you should have the COM 2 while on Port B you should have COM 16. On port B you should check Send data to: the device you set in port A (Probably OM-2000A).

See the example in the UMA, page 11.

Use Serial Redirector. The ports for you will be COM2<>COM16

By the way, you can use SDC but not by the COM Spider feature. That is unneccessary because SDC has a dedicated PA Server Tab.

In your case you will have COM 2 as the COM Port and the CAT protocol is selectable to suit the OM-2000A+

Well, all done and all solved.....!!
Without using SDC, I configured the serial ports as follows with VSPE:

ICOM IC-7600 CAT in PC port COM 3
PC port COM3 <spitter> to Virtual COM15
where CAT from ICOM was shared with all software......LOG....RTTY....WSJT ....ecc.....

With SunSDR2pro I have this:
CW on virtual port COM10
CAT on virtual port COM11
PTT on virtual port COM12
Virtual port COM11 <spitter> to Virtual COM16
where CAT from SDR was shared with all software......LOG....RTTY....WSJT ....ecc.....
Virtual COM16 <-- serial redirector -->> PC COM2

Now I have CAT from Sunsdr2pro also on PC COM2
PC COM2 was connected via NULLMODEM cable to TCVR port on OM Power OM-2000A+

Now the amplifier receives the CAT from the computer, and changes band, and changes frequency automatically.
OM-2000A+ ..... great amplifier......!!

The important thing is that it is not a simple nullmodem cable (2-3 pin crossed and 5 pin GND)
But a full nullmodem cable wired like this:
Pin 2 - Pin 3
Pin 3 - Pin 2
Pin 4 - Pin 6
Pin 5 - Pin 5 (GND)
Pin 6 - Pin 4
Pin 7 - Pin 8
Pin 8 - Pin 7

This kind of cable is also correct to update the amplifier firmware.

On the CAT tab enable Foot switch.
Port name should bee COM2.
