My first post. I am considering purchase of an older SunSDR2QRP transceiver, this will be my first SDR Radio. I am computer fluent in both Linux and Windows so the software and the idea of running a radio from a computer does not intimidate me.
Question- Is the hardware for the SDR2QRP consistent from the time Expert started manufacturing it to the current model for sale as new today --or have there been hardware revisions over the life of this model ?
Any information would be very much appreciated.
Regards, Happy New Year & 73

Hello KF4VAR,
my QRP is from march or from the 3rd quarter of 2018. Serial number SN: EED032018XXXXX. It is designated as version: 7.0 and has the PCB revision: 1
I don't think there are different hardware versions because in my opinion there are very few QRP devices in circulation.

The transceiver is a nice, small and powerfull device. However, no bios bug fixes are expected from me for the future, e.g. the 10 Mhz clock input, not even for the high-priced mb1, which has the same problem. However, the MB1 has a local TCXO of +/- 0.5 ppm and not like the QRP of +/- 2.5 ppm. I am assuming that EE had the bios programmed in Taiwan or that the current programmers have no skill in debugging and programming the bios because the programming is very hardware-related. But maybe I'll be surprised in 2020.

So if you can live with this restriction, buy one.

Regards
Uwe

Hi Uwe
Many thanks for the kind information. Also please accept my apology for not getting back to thank you until now. I deeply appreciate your taking the time to read my post and provide a great and informative reply. Again I am sorry for being so late in saying thanks.

I am now looking at an SDR2 Pro. So I feel sure I will have a few more questions as the days pass.

Again many thanks for the kindness
Regards
Carr
