Problem with scandinavian characters in vspe.bat file
Have tried to autoinstall vspe via windows referring next :

To make VSPE run automatically at Windows boot, create a Windows Batch file (.bat) by opening Windows Notepad and typing the line below (noting the double quotes “” after START):
START “” “C:\config.vspe”

---

Result is that my Finnish windows where command line still is in English doesnt run config, because characters like "" are in äö..
Does anyboby know this problem, and fixed it?

Dispense with the .bat batch file and use Windows Task Scheduler instead.

Create a basic task with a name of your choice to run when you log on. The action is start a program and point it to config.vspe

Thank You Erik,, never tried before, and it works!
Bought HRD logging software,which work also good.
With skimmer i have trouble,,.
It loose very easy connection to MB if trying to use it via MB skm button.
Like to connect it to logbook od something else cluster where i can monitor stations which i hear via own antennas.
(Operating today seem to be too easy,, soon it is only pressing confirm button hehe...)

Yes I know Arno - technology is taking over and humans are redundant. At weekend I was at a contest station with SunSDR2Pro, linked to PC via WiFi. PC was controlling ESDR2, auto-ATU, Bandmaster antenna switching, SPE amplifier, SDC with RTTY Skimmer connected, 5M Contest software. Total automation. We operators only had to use the enter button on the PC. Probably next year there will be a robot doing that.

The SDC Skimmer will start automatically and send your local Skimmer spots to HRD if you connect it to a telnet server in HRD. In the User Manual Addendum follow the example for Swisslog. The principle is the same. If HRD can display only one telnet server, you will need to link SDC to a different Cluster application.

Regarding SKM button, I am not sure if you are referring to the Afreet CW Skimmer. You will have to elaborate for me to answer. CW Skimmer does work reliably if SKM is always on, the application is started via the Features tab in ESDR2, and set up per my recommendations.

The User Manual Addendum for MB1, SunSDR2Pro, Colibri, ESDR2 has been updated. Availability is per the same link as above.

I have made numerous changes, too many to list individually. The main ones are:

Restructuring of the layout to make the flow more logical. Navigation is improved.

There are new sections for Remote via Skype and Writelog/Digirite FT8. Other sections have corrections and updates: MB1 upgrade, MB1/SunSDR2 connection failure, VSPE, SDC/N1MM+, K9DUR DVK, Troubleshoorting.

Images are now from ESDR2 1.3.

Here isa have compared My both rigsMb1 and thenFlex 6400M with Maestro
Flex is good with TNF and remote control+ display,and Mb1 is good specially in cw with sdc
Was is missing with flex is TCI and sdc support
I dont like to play with FT8, which is not dx:ing , even bands are mostly closed..

Merry Christmas!

No I have not switched to LogHX. It was missing from the UMA and some Russian friends + Mark in the USA had mentioned that they would like to see it added.

SDC functions perfectly with Flex. It requires registration from Yuri (ask by email) and SDR-Bridge software to provide the link from SDC to the SmartSDR protocol. Instructions are in a video that can be downloaded from www.dropbox.com/s/5k2mq7mm6ax3ca1/sdc%2Bbridge%2Bsmartsdr.zip?dl=0

Having run the Flex 6600M (on loan only) and the MB1 side-by-side, it was clear that the Flex has the better receiver overall. However, the high incidence of hardware failure and other problems are the main deterents to changing. The MB1 hardware is totally reliable and, whilst ESDR2 is severely under developed, the hardware + software will always be up and running at a push of a button. A week or so on the Flex Community Forum will show that is not the case with that brand. Not that I denigrate Flex in any way and obviously you are happy, but I do see many reports of problems. There was also a magazine review of the 6400 in the UK recently and the opening paragraph said guess what? The review model had to be returned for remedial work. Not a good recommendation.

The main change relates to COM port keying in N1MM+ which, using the Secondary Key method, was unsatisfactory. A significant improvement in keying without stutter, even at very high speeds, is described and utilises CAT to control the key line. If you are not using the preferable Winkey utility with N1MM, and use COM port keying, I recommend checking out the change.

There is now a section, 5.10, that is dedicated to the new JTDX branch that caters for high dynamic range SDR radios and with 32 bit audio sampling size. This takes FT8 / JT65 decoding to the optimum level. Settings for ESDR2, VAC control panel and download links for JTDX 64bit exe with 32 bit audio sample size are included. I have also provided a link to instructions for JTSDKv3 installation for those who compile their own JTDX.
