Hi all,

I have a question related to the spots on the screen of EESDR3.
First I am running v3 0.13.0 build 02092022.

I have tried with SDC sending to pan directly and also tried with Log4OM with the option to send spots on the EESDR3 but I have the same behavior with both which is that the spots disappears only after a few minutes sometimes a few seconds.

The option in EESDR3 is set to the maximum (limit of 200 spots and lifetime 20 minutes).

If anyone could also explain the broadcast data option, I tried to get the spots from N1MM with the port matching the port in N1MM (12060) but nothing appears in EESDR3.

Thanks a lot for your help.

I think broadcast data option is used by SDC to set the colors in panorama based on their status in N1MM+ (new band, new mult, worked before etc). It must be enabled from both SDC (Telnet Server tab) and N1MM+ (Broadcast data). Once N1MM+ starts communicating with SDC, the blue arrows will be all active indicating successful data sharing.

The spots from SDC to EESDR3 are sent via TCI and it depends how you configure your DX Cluster sources. Normally SDC connects to the DX Cluster of your choice and then acts as a 'hub' to feed spots to N1MM+ via Telnet and to EESDR3 via TCI.

Thanks a lot for your reply. It helps a bit with N1MM but still have this issue with the spots disappearing quickly.
I will dig in further.

Thanks again for your time

As far as I can see from the TCI. documentation, there is no duration sent with the spot to eesdr3 (as there is in the Flex API for example). Maybe Ed can comment on whether this is a constant value or if the spot appears until it is deleted by another TCI command.

So no one has replied in a while so does anyone know how to alter the persistence of the spots coming from Log4OM. There is a setting for the cluster spots in Log4OM but mine is set to 60 minutes. The spots don't last that long.

I am using Log4OM and the spots last for 10 min as set on the SPOT Limit and Lifetime selection screen.
Mine is set to Limit = 200 and Lifetime = 10 min.
The spot will last bright red for 50% of the selected time and then fade and finally disappear at 10 min.
There are no color selections available on the alpha at this time, as far as I can see.

I do not have the same behavior, from Log4OM sometimes the spot disappear within a few minutes while my setting is set to 200 and 20 minutes.
I also have no change of color nor fading.
Using last Log4OM and last EESDR v3

Im still running SDR2 update 11 and noticed spots used to remain for 15 or more minutes, Within the last couple of weeks they persist on the screen for anywhere between 30 seconds to about 2 minutes maximum

I have lifetime set for 30 minutes with maximum spots set for 50. Something has changed.

Hi,

it usually happens when your dx cluster node sends a lot of spots. I remember EESDR stores a maximum of 200 calls independently from the band.
This make the internal list is filled by spots that aren't visible because they are on other bands, and when new calls arrive the older ones are deleted even if their lifetime isn't off.
This problem was pointed up some years ago but I suppose that logic wasn't changed since then.
Some software, like 5MContest, implemented a workaround for this issue: it sends to ESSDR only the spot in the current band and it is enough to work them all during their lifetime.
I hope my explanation is understandable
