Sounds juicy.

Arduino Nano already not enough?
I thought TCI isn't platform dependent, but I might be dramatically wrong.

Yes, you can use RPi3 for ExpertRS, the link for the image - drive.google.com/file/d/1X-qK5UWqLmYuEz1DUWPgb69_vipPqBuJ/view?usp=sharing

Does this work on Raspberry Pi3B or only on Raspberry Pi4? This is what I get when I turn on the Rpi3B.

Judging by the screen everything is OK.
This image doesn't have a graphical interface, you need to enter RPi3 IP address in your local browser.

Hello!

I have downloaded that RPI image and successfully installed. In the document instruction that was given here: pileupdx.com/sunsdr/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2019/07/Expert-Remote-system_ENG.pdf I get to the point that after installing the image and running Raspberry, it should act as accesspoint with SSID "RemoteServer". That does not happen. However if I connect it to the existing router via LAN, it gets address with DHCP and I can log in to OpenWrt interface.
Now, let's assume my Lan was 192.168.1.x network and my radio SunSDR2Dx has factory address 192.168.16.200. I will change the RPi-s Lan interface address to 192.168.16.1. After that I change my computer's ip to static 192.168.16.2 so that I can access the RPi. I log in and join the Wifi interface to my home Wifi (that has 192.168.1.x network) and I get 192.168.1.100 address for wifi adapter of RPi.
After that I connect my radio (192.168.16.200) straight to Rpi Lan socket (192.168.16.1) with cat 5 cable. Now if I try to connect from my home network computer (192.168.1.x) to Rpi (192.168.1.100) I cannot access neither Remote Web interface (http://192.168.1.100) nor openwrt (http://192.168.1.100/admin).
To clear out - if I connect radio straight to my computer, I can run ExpertSDR2 and radio connects. ExpertSDR3 also connects to radio. ExpertRS does run and shows the radio (192.168.16.200), but if I try to connect with ExpertRC, it says "no radio found".
My computer is windows 10 Pro 64-bit. I attach my current setup schematics here.
I want to know - what I am doing wrong? Why cannot I use remote?
regards
Kristjan ES1ZR

Hi,
I would suggest to disable the RPI wifi interface and in general I wouldn't suggest a direct connection between the PC/RPi and the SDR..
You should "fix" an IP address in the router using the MAC address of each device. In this way you won't need to set fixed IP address on any device and the DHCP server will always assign the same address to the same devices.
You have to set a fixed IP address only on the SunSDR rig - it has to mach the same IP you "booked" on your router.
When all devices will be on the same subnet things should go better.
I hope this can help

Hi!

I do not find it easyer to use static dhcp instead of static addresses and for sure it is not more reliable - just this is they way You are used to work.
However I tested different setups now with windows and mac. And I found bigger propblem that the ExpertRC 1.3.0 Update1 does not connect, no matter what.
As the Raspberry as show it's unreliability, I launched the ExpertRS x64 0.6.6 in windows laptop, that has wired connection to SunSdr and wifi connection to LAN. And if I launch the ExpertRC, it says "Can't open remote". I tested that telnetting to ExpertRS laptop with port 5050 opens. So - there are no connectivity issues. But in ExpertRC the "discover" button is non-functional.

Now finally I have discovered, that the ExpertRS x64 0.6.6 does not do it's job. It runs, finds the radio, but dos not accept the connects from the ExpertRC.
When I ran the ExpertRS x86 0.6.6, it runs, finds the radio. The ExpertRC even connects, but the band is empty (feels like there are no activity, waterfall running and white noise). This all matches to the issue, that has Russian-speaking user describing here: eesdr.com/en/forum-en/11---sdr/7358?start=60#14979
He claims, that he can use ExpertRS x64 0.6.4 that works fine for him, but this program is not available for download anymore! :(

Same here, been playing around with the RemoteRS for quite sometime now but to no avail. 3 of my ham friends already got flex radios as the remote capability is easier than what EE have.
