Mark - we are on 1.3.1 not 1.3.6. This version 1.3.1 has Updates 1,2,3,5 and 6. Latest is update 7 Preview. The latest link posted by Roman yesterday is worth trying in case it solves your problem.


Manfred - my MB1 does not have the ATU so no, I cannot say whether it will solve your problem. Please try it and let s know! I think it very likely that it does - Roman has clearly diverted programming attention to this in order to leave ERSDR2 in a good working state prior to moving 100% to ESDR3. I hope you can confirm.

I exchanged the "new" ExpertSDR2.exe with the "old" one in my installation. The result: ATU does not work at all, and SWR is shown as "very high" and red
in the MB1 display! I changed it back to the old version! With this version the ATU is at least working one time after power on!

I think, there is still some programming work to do!

Hello Manfred, thanks for letting us know. It is very disappointing. Why EE do not test before release I cannot imagine. How many "this one fixes it" releases have there been now? If this trend continues into ESDR3........

Hi, everyone.
You just need to unzip the files from the link and launch the .exe file from the new folder.

I copied all files and whoila no problems ATU works all ok

I unzipped the file and startet the ExpertSDR2.EXE.
The program starts, MB1 switches to "Power On" and after 3 seconds to "Power Off"!
When switching to "on", it will switch off after a few seconds.

For me it does not work, sorry!

I think, we have to wait until Update 8 is coming out.

Hi Manfred. Did you create a firewall exception? Someone else told me same problem. But by team viewer I did a fresh install, copied over the new files, put back his options.ini and ESDR2 starts ok and ATU is fixed. I know from experience this does not mean it will be fixed for everyone but still, worth checking in case you can make it work.

Hi there,

today, I installed and tested the latest ExpertSDR2-Software on my MB1
(version 1.3.1 Update 7 preview). I installed also the firmware update
for the ATU version 6).

This version is not running at all on my MB1! Three seconds after start,
the software is closing down, which means the red power button in the
software becomes grey.

After that, I downgraded back to version 1.3.1 update 6 and update 5 and
ATU-firmware version 5. With update five the software is running, but
the ATU still does not work.

Now comes the real problem: My power output on 160m and 80m is below 35
watts (carrier maximum), on 40m I have only about 20 W, and on the upper
bands there is almost no output at all. This is all the time with ATU
enabled or bypassed. I measured this with a 50 Ohm dummy load.

It looks, as if a software failure has killed the PA-unit of my MB1 ???
It looks very bad.

What can we do about this problem ??? Roman, please help!

Just extracted all files and copied and pasted in dir where i have expert software and it works perfect.
How do you perform the update?

Hi, Manfred.
The testing procedure should be as follows:
1. Unzip the folder with ExpertSDR2 Update 7 preview.
2. Close your current ExpertSDR2 version.
3. Start the .exe file from the unzipped folder.
4. Agree to update firmware, decline to default your settings
That's all.
Check your Options-> Device-> Expert tab, looks like last time you've agreed to default settings.
