Greetings,

Yesterday while in the shack, the VHF-radio (a handheld Kenwood TH-74d) was relaying a QSO between to local stations on 145.525MHz. I got to think that I never really used the MB1 on 2meters and therefore I switched the external VHF antenna to the MB1 and tuned to 145.525.
The result was more than chocking. The closest station was just above the static and I had difficulties with hearing what was being said. The other station was completely gone below the static?
When switching the antenna back to the Kenwood both stations was back with +30.
I think a radio of this caliber would be at least as good as (or better than) the Kenwood HT – so what am I doing wrong. Which control have I missed? Would the VHF HPF cure this?

Hi, Peter.
Here are my suggestions:
1. Enable SAW filter for 144-148 MHz
2. Enable VHF LNA
3. Also, this might be related to the issue described in the FAQ/ MB1/ Question 3: eesdr.com/en/faq-en

Hi, Peter.
In the Device tab:
Use RX Wide filter – set the Use RX Wide filter checkbox to enable the wide filter for the whole HF (0...65 MHz) or VHF (95...155 MHz) band.
Auto enable – set the Auto enable the checkbox to auto-enable RX WF when the band-scope and/or the second receiver on the other band are switched on.
VHF LNA – set the VHF LNA checkbox to auto-enable Low Noise Amplifier for the VHF band.
