I just noticed that using ExpertSDR3 I have no receive audio when the Preamp is set to -10dB or -20db.
I will hear audio when the Preamp is set to 0dB or +10dB.
Is this normal, or is something broken?

I have sound no matter what the preamp says, so your rig's behavior seems a little strange to me.

Good luck anyways.

Thanks, for the response!

My SQL is not enabled.
The volume of the RX audio appears to be lower than it used to be.
I recall being able to have receive audio from all the various Preamp setting.
Now, the waterfall looks like no antenna is connected when the Preamp is set to -10dB or -20dB.
From the response I am getting, it looks like some repair is needed!

Sam,

Have you tried to "Default" the Calibrations? Just to make sure that nothing is messed-up in SunSDRs non-volatile memory?

Mine is the same way..
With -10db I can barely hear the strongest signals
With -20db, nothing but internal noise.
AGC setting doesn't matter.
"Calibration" has nothing to do with this but reset anyway.
Version is SDR3
Rig SDR2dx
Did the same with SDR2 so it's not the software.
The attn is MUCH more than 10 or 20 db
I can force feed it with a generator and hear something but it takes a huge signal.
At 0db all is well.
At +10db it acts just like 0db, not change to the meter or the ear.

-10 or -20db virtually kills all receive. It is much greater than what it says.

I am starting to believe, that since I am not alone in what I am hearing from my Preamp setting, then
maybe my SunSDRR22dx running ExpertSDR3 is not defective as I earlier suspected

I will try and use only 0dB and +10dB on my Preamp settings.
