OK Arno - this is what you do:
1 You have to use Task Scheduler but you do not use a Desktop shortcut.
2 As you already have it, the config.vspe file should be located in the Windows root directory c:\config.vspe
3 Open Task Scheduler and go to Create Basic Task.
4 Give the task a name - VSPE, click Next
5 When I log on, click Next
6 Start a program, click Next
7 Browse to the location of the VSPE exe file: C:\Program Files (x86)\Eterlogic.com\Virtual Serial Ports Emulator (64 bit)\VSPEmulator.exe
8 In the box below where it says Add arguments (optional) enter
-minimize -hide_splash c:/config.vspe
9 Click Next and then Click Finish
10. Reboot - VSPE will automatically load. There is no splash screen and the GUI is minimised. You can see it running in the System Tray, from where you can open the GUI if you want to.
