Power supply is good. Is there a fuse to look for?

Hi, Ed
No, no fuse.
No green light flashing after pressing the button ?
(This device is for 5V, not more ! There are many regulaters on the PCB that die beyond 5.5 V)

Frank

This event is my fault. I plugged the wrong connector into the CalibriDDC. 12 volts rather than 5 volt. Now I am very sad to loose my wonderful SDR Receiver. No excuse! I will have to label the many adapters to know what voltage is at the end.

Hello Ed,

maybe there is a little hope !
I did´n study electronics and regretfully have no ColibriDDC schematics, but I took a look at the inside of my ColibriDDC.
There is a small smd element with a nearby printed line "FS1_PWR", could mean "fuse1_power". If it looks different from
the one in my photo and the resistance between both poles is significantly more than a couple of ohms then changing this smd element would be, what I call " a "little hope".
(to dismantle the box you need a really tiny torx screwdriver nr. 6.

Good luck!
Regards from Frankfurt

Frank I owe you.

I saw the fuse on the board and carefully measured across. It is open. Inserted the power supply on the side that says FS1 I was able to measure 4.99 volts. On the other side was Zero. I carefully used a a sharp paper clip and placed it across the fuse. Nothing happened until I pressed the power switch and "Wallah" the green light started blinking again. Now I just need to find the a fuse replacement.

This good info for the next poor ham that commits the grave mistake of plugging in the wrong power cord.

Thanks again and BTW who are you?

Could I possibly have the value of FS1 on the ColibriDDC. Need to get a replacement. I am quite capable of replacing it.

Hi Ed,

0.7 A at 125% = 0.875 A.
At least one of the black bricks near the fuse is likely to be a Suppression Diode.
In case of over voltage it produces a short circuit current.
So, to provide the sanity of the following parts on the board don´t choose more than 1 A.
Even if you might have addited the BPF.

Frank and everyone else on the board. My ColibriDDC has risen from death. After ordering the $0.25 fuse from Digi-Key I was able to replace it in about 5 minutes. ColibriDDC is working again.

Thanks to all
