Hello All
I am a new Sunsdr2 dx owner and I wish to connect the radio to my spe 1.k amplifier using SDC and CAT. Of course I have searched previous posts on this topic and I think I am close to getting this right but still no joy in getting the amp to switch frequency with the Sunsdr.

This is what I have done so far
I am using eesdr3 software on a Windows 11 PC
I have downloaded the SDC software and I have registered this program
I have built the interface as recommended in the SDC manual
I have turned on TCI in eesdr3 and running on port 40001
I have gone into my spe 1.3k and changed cat settings to Kenwood and baud of 19200 (per recommendation of ei4kf manual)
My amp interface is connected to a known good USB to serial converter which throws out com 9 on my pc.
I am using this same com 9 com port as my port in the SDC PA tab and have changed the port baud in SDC to 19200 as well (I have also tried 9600 baud on amp and SDC and no luck with that either)

I have created a TCI client under TCI tab in SDC - this appears to be working as when I switch to the PA tab within SDC I can see the radio frequency change when I qsy to a new freq within EESDR3 - ie in the polling log on the PA tab shows the freq data flow. I do not however get any change in frequency on my Spe 1.3k.

I should add that that when setting up my PA interface within SDC that the com port I have selected is com9 (same port that my amp interface is connected to my PC via usb to rs232 converter). Is this correct - ie eesdr 3 generates data via TCI - TCI data goes into SDC via the TCI client 1 created on the TCI tab - SDC then outputs the data to com9 via the PA control 1 profile that I have created on the SDC PA tab. Do I understand the process correctly or is there another step to link to com 9 (my amp interface)

I would appreciate the following advice:
Is the way I am trying to get the sunsdr to band change the spe 1.3k still the best way to do this (I know you can use band data from the rear of the sunsdr but I prefer the more frequent band changing that comes with the SDC solution). I know things are changing quickly in the world of sunsdr software so I just want to make sure this is still a workable method with eesdr3 etc.
Does anybody have any tips as to why my setup is not working? Have I missed a step somewhere?
Can the same thing be achieved using the rigsync program provided by sunsdr and ditch the SDC aspect entirely?

Cheers and Thanks
Paul Richards - vk4ma

Dear Paul!

My working settings on COM22 and 1K-FA ...

I dont know what are all the ports in TCI tab with RIG emulator....remove them and try only PA tab. Then when you see your PA working build your configuration in TCI Tab.

Dear Paul!
I see that some of us who want to help are unworthy of a humble answer like: it didn't help me, you're not right, etc...
It would be an honor to help, but I have now come to the conclusion that I will not write even one post on this forum with the desire to help.
:write:  :write:  My bad to even try to help.
