This is all in the UMA, there is nothing that can be added to those instructions. A summary follows that utilizes the TCI/SDC method. Once up and running, should you wish to change to the more complex split ports in VSPE then please ask. This though will prove there are no other issues than configuration.
1 Configure VSPE as you see in the UMA page 11. VSPE with its profile needs to be started at computer boot. The UMA gives this instruction.
2 In ESDR2 Options, TCI tab, enable Transceiver Control Interface. Leave the port as default.
3 In ESDR2 Options, CAT tab, set the parameters thus:
4 Run HRD. In the Connect panel set the parameters like this:
HRD will connect to ESDR2 and you will see your radio frequency displayed in the main GUI.
5 Next, attach a FTDI USB serial adapter to your computer or use an existing serial port. I have to make some assumptions here since there was no detail in your question. But since you previously used a Flex, I presume you operated the SDA 100 through USB cable management in Smart SDR. In Device Manager you will have something akin to this:
The crux of this is to have serial enumerator checked so that a unique port number is assigned.
6 Download and install SDC from
sdc.qrz.ru/installers/SDC_15.05x64_setup.exe
In its install directory there is a comprehensive English language manual. For our purposes, on the Setup tab enable: no-kill window, PA Control with auto start, and Use TCI. Have a means of having SDC load at computer boot by creating a start-up task in task sheduler. Right now it is ok to manually run it but do so before launching ESDR2.
7 In SDC TCI tab enable TCI as below (do not worry about focus helper):
In SDC PA tab configure your SDA100 COM port to receive CAT data from ESDR2. I have the Ultrabeam controller and the COM 3 that you see matches the COM number above in my Device Manager.
8 You must make a Save in SDC to save settings and preserve them for the next launch.
This should get you running with both HRD and the SDA100.
