Ladies (if any) and gents,

I just upgraded yesterday my fully working SunSDR2pro (on expertsdr2) to expertsdr3 by changing the software and firmware according to the great manual on this forum. (still I find it kind of idiotic one has to change the whole IP and port configuration to do a firmware upgrade, if really necessary... Anyhow I sticked to the manual and it worked)

All seems to work apart the fact I have no audio. Yes Roman, I read the manual 4 times but could not find why. I tried all settings MME WASAPI WDM and even installed an ASIO4ALL driver but cannot get the audio working. Yes I selected RX 1 soundcard etc...

NO AUDIO.

any hints ????

So HP elitebook with realtek audio does not work, did work before with expertsdr2. Weird ????

Getting desperate and no replies here I decided to install it on my Dell XPS. Works as a charm from the first try. Very weird.

Wattmeter is not working in SSB while the waterfall shows audio. in AM wattmeter works. I guess a bug....

NB and NR are fabulous.

correction, wattmeter works but software defaults with drive level in SSB at zero.

quite confusing as one can see his mic TX pattern on waterfall with 0 drive. When adjusting drive TX pattern largely exceeds display, is there a way to reduce the TX spectrum on the waterfall ???

audio card stopped also working now on the Dell XPS. Line output still works.

Must be a bug with this audio part....

I also discovered running the remote the last three days that the audio slowly starts lagging compared to the waterfall.
After two hours of listening the lag is like THREE seconds.
Clicking on the bandwidth setting and back resets the delay again.

I have no idea why I am typing this as I have the impression I am the only one here on the forum.

Too bad as the SunSDRPro2 is a real nice pice of equipment and the ExpertSDR3 remote software is very promising. All seems to be working fine here with me apart from the connection with the windows MME audio.

Just installed ExpertSDR3 on a third laptop. An HP Elitebook i7 running W10

Again no audio. No matter what setting MME Impossilbe to get it running, only on the Dell XPS after a lot of fiddling with the audio card settings and not reliable.

Funny thing is that the WEB-access works perfectly well. Great audio.

Next week I will try on my Toshiba as it seems hardware related. I wonder what PC the developers are using....

No you are not alone here. But in my situation sdr2dx had not any problems so far. Earlier problems was on my side "Computer". But that was maybe 1,5 years ago. I use only ssb and VarAC I use it at my qth with (SSB) Cakewalk DAW and TCI to RF2K-s amplifire and Log4OM I also use digital mode VarAC without any problems.In summer 6 months every year in my boat also ssb and VarAC without any extras except for running most of it via bluetooth and laptop. I am here about every day and if I can help anyone I will do that. But I have not experience of your problems. I always start with having a matching antenna for the frequensy with or without tuner and in my case a powerful pc laptop or desktop.. But earlier I also had to write a mail to EpertElectronics who answer my question in 24 hours.. Aboute remote they have told us that they work on it and I will wait for it to be ready I have tried it as you have and also have a big delay so I will wait. But normal ssb should not be a problem following the instructions. I do not use CW and can not speak for that.
I sure hope you will come to a solution with or without help from here.( We are here to help if we can)

What exactly do you use Cakewalk for ?

I just want audio to go to my speakers or headset but on two of the three laptops I tested it on it does not work at all, on the third it works but cumbersome.

On all 3 version 2 ran withous any issues.

Hallo again . Yes I have always had Audio on all updates. Also now on the latest beta 1.05.
I use Cakewalk so I can play a lot with my audio using different plugins. That is just a sideway in the radio hobby for me. I using a rode podmic which in my setup needs more high frequensies and also a preamp with 48 volt phantom power. But when I use my Sunsdr in my boat I use a head set mic. If you not have power to your audio I first Rightclick on the Mic top right corner. and the open settings with Cog gear (top right side) and then under profile set the same mic 1 or 2 or pc if you have your mic in to pc. I do not know how you connect your Microphone? But manual can tell you which to use

I am using digital audio over USB.

Going to see first what the new beta release does...

I do not see the purpose of screenshots, the settings are very clear but they just don't work. I guess it has to do something with USB audio. Only default windows audiorouter settings work, if selecting a source directly in expertsdr all crashes or no audio.

Okay,....

Tried to install the.06 beta version. It did not work. Program does not start. Shows in the tray but that's all. NOTHING. (latest W10 Elitebook HP i5)

Removed it using windows add remove programs. Restarted.

Installed again .05 beta version. Got an errror during the Visual C install. "already installed" Bypassed this error.

Radio starts again fine.

Not much to report if it does not start but total failure...

I checked the sound out on my station with ESDR3 1.0.6 beta and Windows10 desktop PC.

When my headphones are set in PC headphones jack, I was not getting any sound, only when connected directly to the radio.
I checked the setting via "Wheel" Settings->headphones.-> Line Out. There is the RX1 Sound Card button.
You will see several sound drivers; WASAPI Speaker, MME Microsoft Sound mapper and MME Realtek Speaker etc. By activation of RX1 Sound Card to green I got sound in my PC headphones from all these driver selections.

I also observed that volume slider and headphones button on first ESDR3 page does nothing. Volume control is done only by PC volume slider, not ESDR3 volume slider.
So volume seems to be handled only by the PC sound card when headphones are connected to PC jack.
I hope that I have not misunderstood your problem, if so just forget my comment.

After rereading your first message I saw that you have RX1 sound card activated. So sorry for QRM.

Now I noticed the sound is cut off if I remove headphones plug from PC jack and reinstalled it.
The TX1 sound card and "Line out to sound card" are both green and remains active but no sound.
Switching "Line Out to sound card" button off/on and the sound is back!
