This is probably a silly question, but why isn't it possible to use the opposite sideband on CW even in the latest alpha version of EESDR? Why is there still no choice on CW, equivalent to DIGL and DIGU? If I tune towards higher frequencies on CW and the pitch decreases, it is illogical and annoying. Most transceivers have a choice of CW and CWR, but EESDR has only one option, corresponding to CWR. This is a serious shortcoming that I have been pointing out for a long time, but it is being ignored. Why? Or will I learn again that the EESDR team has "other priorities"? I'm running out of patience!

Dear Sir!

Thank you, I do not need an interpreter to understand, what Martin is pointing to. We actually had some chat earlier, ended up with the request to EE.

However, for those, who are busy to open/read the link, I can quote whats there and essential to understand (quote): "Alpha software may not contain all of the features that are planned for the final version".

It is also unfortunate, that some users believe that their feature requests have precedence over other users requests, The reality is - there is a queue of feature requests over many aspects (phone, DIGI, CW, filters, basic and enhanced functionality) which was build by many ESDR2 users over years of working with this version. When it came to ESDR3, EE tries to sort it out in a sequence, which they manage. Honestly, I do not believe, that speculating on "patience" (or other personal dramas or valuable feelings from childcare garden) will take any effect on a queue. The best we can do as users at this stage: get the latest alpha (which is just out) and chop-chop-chop (get your testing/bug reporting complete).

@OK1RR

Martin, due to 0.9A ED testing approaching its final, and TCI 1.6 is about to be released, I am going to do some tests on TCI CW this and next week. Usually, very high speed CW is outside of my interest, however, I can do tests around it too. If you, please, can target me the typical speed you after (and other parameters if there are any). As the result I hope it will produce interim TCI-based solution (if you are interested) for your QSK-related issue.

Here we go and that was really fun :D

While Martin is "losing his patience" (come on, Martin, couple beers and patience will return, I am sure), I have decided to test something with SunSDR CW, which I have never tested before. Why? Just because :)

Testing setup is very simple:
On a left - my fresh SunSDR DX, transmitting to dummy load.
On a right - my "IOTA veteran" - SunSDR2, receiving via cable (connected on ANT2 and other side unconnected - on top of dummy load).

Both are running under ESDR3 latest alpha 0.9, DX is under Mac and 2 is under Win10:

And S2 will be seen on recorded video.

I am using TCI cw_macro with the only reason, that my tests are required CW speed, which I will not be able achieve ever with manual keying - up to 100WPM.

Testing two things:
1. Major task - can DX transmit in a range from 30 to 100 WPM (with step up of 10WPM) with RX->TX delay set to "zero" without artifacts? I am going to control any potential artifacts with SunSDR2. Main purpose of this test: to see it there are definitely any issues with relays, which should result in shortening initial transmitted symbol (that what Martin said he eve "measured" somehow, but honestly - I did not see those "measures").
2. Minor task - can SDC actually decode up to 100WPM? If it does - good, then the controlling part is OK. If it does not - then I will slow down recorded audio to check if there are any artifacts.

Here is the video, I leave it here un-cut and un-edited. Just raw - exactly as is it was recorded. Fair warning - video is 370Mb size:

I think there are no further comments needed, just watch and listen.

Cheers!

P.S. Yes, I am still not sure at this stage, whether "relays" are really drama and needed to be replaced with PIN diodes.
P.S.S. I always new that SDC is "very good job" :)

@ VK6NX

Would you care if I copied your post and downloaded the video and put it on my YouTube channel? I want to ask first and get you okay or no.

Thank you
