Hi all,
I have an ACOM 600s with the 04AT tuner. With this tuner the 600s can do an "all band tuning" controlling the MB1 using CAT. This is possible with all transceivers that provides FSK. Since the MB1 (and the rest of Experts transceivers) uses AFSK and not FSK the new 04AT tuner in combination with either ACOM 600s, 700s, 1200s models isn't able to tune automatic.
I have talked to Val at ACOM and he says that if Expert dosn't implement FSK, automatic tuning is simply not possible with their products.

I know a lot of you guys are using ACOM amps so I thought that you might whant to know this before cashing out big money for the tuner.

I have owned an Acom 1200S with the automatic 04AT tuner and have experinced exactly this. Was in contact with VAL at Acom about this and he has tried to help by modifying the tuner software to use FM tuning signal instead of FSK. The Acom 1200S + 04AT needs a continous carrer for tuning, in the meantime I was using a CW carrier from the transceiver while tuning manually.
I sold my amp a year ago before Acom was presenting a modified software. Maybe they are ready now?

The easiest way is to lodge feature request to implement FSK with EE, Peter :hi:

However ... There are always "two cents" in SDR world.
One - is that FSK/CAT is rather old way on integration, supported by equipment, which we have a chance to call "vintage" in a few years.
Two - EE has their own TCI, which can replace FSK/CAT/Telnet and other obsolete things.

Hence, if EE will not like your feature request, we may see in a future something like "TCI to FSK/CAT/Telnet converters" :pardon:

From a technical point of view, this problem can be resolved because TCI allows this. I wrote a software that communicated with EESDR through TCI and to my SPE amplifier over serial. What it did was initiate the ATU tuning and then activated the Tune function in EESDR (which is basically a CW signal) and this works. I'm not familiar with ACOM's tuning system but I imagine that if the ACOM ATU can take serial commands, this can be done without too much difficulty.
