GM.
I am new to the RX2 function. I assume that I can listen to 2 different signals at the same time. Unless, I am totally in the dark. Is there any thing out in the documentation that would help me to set this up and try it?
Thanks!

It's real simple. You just click on the RX2 button and a new window opens. The controls are nearly the same as the RX1 controls. Only real limit is you will be using the same antenna for both receivers.

Keith,
When I click on the RX A2 at the bottom of the MB1 screen it brings up a box with Parameters such as Off, Start, Show Qmem and stuff such as that. Perhaps there is a change that I need to make in the Options screen?

To open the second receiver on my MB1 I press the RX2 button next to the red on-off button at the top left area.

Sorry you also need to be using the expanded GUI screen. Just click on the little monitor icon at the top left.

You can also press the RX2 button on the MB1 itself. There is no need to leave the MB1 GUI.

RX2 Setup 23 Jan 2020 00:44 #8

New to SunSDR2 DX - got the RX2 mode working in receive, but can't figure out how to transmit on the RX2 side of things. ie if I have normal rX1 on 80 meters and rx2 on 40 meters, I can set up split mode on both and hear 4 frequencies but can only figure out how to transmit on the RX1 side. I am missing something so simple?

thanks

Unless something has changed, there still is no way to get TX focus on RX2 from within ESDR2. This is a request outstanding since 2016 so maybe it has now been done and I missed it. Roman will clarify I am sure. If still the case though, any physical input device, mic or key, is by default locked into RX1. There are some exceptions:

Assign a shortcut to RX2 MOX and now you can transmit on RX2 with the attached key / mic but it is not so elegant solution because the shortcut has to be actioned at the beginning of transmission and at the end of transmission.

For especially 3rd party software control, there is no such limitation because if you want to TX on both RX 1 and 2 you can do that via COM-ports, which could be configured in Options-> Device-> CW tab. Here you can find different settngs for RX1 and RX2.

For especially digital, in Options>Device>CAT you will see separate settings for RX2 and that includes PTT. Therefore for software like WSJTx and JTDX, two instances of these, one for each RX, will control separate TX for RX1 and RX2. The setup for this scenario is explained in the User Manual Addendum
