TOPIC: SS2DX to Acom 1200s with AT04 ATU

SS2DX to Acom 1200s with AT04 ATU 03 Dec 2023 18:53 #1

Greetings,

Has anyone successfully been able to use the SunSDRDX and Acom 1200S with the AT04 auto tuner? I use the Acom 1200S and ATU combination with my FTDX101MP and it works flawlessly, I would just like to utilize the same combo with my SunSDRDX with complete automation. The other threads utilize a CAT BCD band data cable connection that is good only for amplifier operation without the ATU. The connection between the Yaesu and the AMP/Tuner combination uses a serial (RS232) CAT cable as the tuner has to know the radio transmit frequency in order to switch to the correct band segment. The SunSDRDX utilizes a 15 pin D-sub and not a RS232 or USB connection. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Mike

but i use a usb-RS232 for the CAT connection. RAdioSynch software to transmit CAT data to the linear. It forwards from CtrlExt(SunSDR2) the KeyOut connection to KeyIN of the linear for PTT.

Don't forget to activate the CAT function of the power amplifier

I don't have the documentation with me at the moment, so you can wait a few more days, but I'll send you the radiosynch setting....

Mir,

What would be the pinout after removing the DB-9 and replacing it with the DB-15?

Thanks for your help.

I did not remove the DB9 connector I just made an adapter with DB9 Female on the DB15 3 row. If I am not mistaken, USB-RS232 converters with a DB15 3 row connector are not available on the market. Do not use a VGA cable as it is not suitable for such use. You must however pay attention that Pin2 of ACOM is assigned RX and PIN3 the TX signal with Pin5 for the 0Volt (see ACOM manual). Hi Arturo

With another USB<>RS232 cable connected to the power amplifier's RS232 (DB9 Female) port, you can use a small programme written by SM7IUN to remotely control your amplifier. You can find the necessary information here.

Thanks also to Bjorn, SM7IUN for writing this little program.

Mir,

Thanks for this, can't wait to try this out. When you get a chance, could you provide the Radiosyc settings?
I've got the cable ready.

Thx,
Mike
