Ok Rob, so he has omitted the resistor. But I think that is correct. You'll have to ask Roman again whether it is necessary. Email him directly. If it is not the cable at fault then it is something else. Is BCD enabled? What else could affect it? Roman may know.

There was a post on this Forum from someone who had trouble but got it working. I cannot find it in a search; it does go back a long time. Also in 2017, from my book of support requests, I helped someone with BCD and I noted that the BCD table was incorrect on 10m. However the table is otherwise correct which I verified this morning.

So maybe that resistor is important - only Roman would know. Or it is something else. You could email Ray G3XLG: he wrote the BCD section in the UMA so he might have some ideas for you.

The schematic we recommended is a working solution, we make cables according to this schematic.
You don't need to use a 510 Ohm resistor, SPE PA has it already, so that is correct.
Check the ExtCtrl itself, maybe it was damaged during the experiments. There should be resistance between X1-X7 and GND, when you activate them.

Just an update regarding the cable from the sunSdr to the Expert 1K Band Data is now working but now having a problem with PTT, so I'm now waiting for a New cable from Billy once I receive that New cable and do some test's with PTT and Band Change I'll post and give an update again.

Things are improving, thankfully. Do let us know eventually, for the benefit of others, what was initially wrong and whether the band data table is correct throughout 160 to 6m.

Friends. I use Expert 1k with SUN Sdr. I don't have any data cables. Only PTT.
I tap the paddle, one dot and the PA is tuned to the correct band.
CAT is off.

Just another update, I've now got the New Cable for the SunSDR2 DX to the Expert 1K AMP the cable work's as Roman said with the settings for the ExtCRTL on the SunSDR so everything's working as it should.

Billy's cable's from www.hamcables.co.uk have been ordered before for other Ham's as he was making them they had extra cables connected for those Ham's who wanted to add extra things for those cables I have NO idea what the extra connections were for so can not comment.
The cable Billy will now make as a standard for the SunSDR2 DX to the Expert 1K AMP is the one I am using now and he sell's them at a very good price and far lower than the EMPORIUMS sell them for.

The only things the cable doesn't do is POWER on the radio as soon as you POWER the Radio ON so once the radio is powered on you can the turn the AMP on or even turn the AMP on first then the radio, it's NO problem either way the AMP follows the radio with the Band Date and TX's as it should.

Hello guys, name is Dennis VK4SX, waiting for SUNSDR DX to arrive, I also have SPE amps, SECOND SERIES 1.5 KFA, can some one have a quick po-beep at what I thought would be Yaesu CAT pin out?
I also and UNSURE of the SUNSDR ALC function ?? with SPE products?
I would appreciate any thoughts on the matter,

I was wondering if this optocoupler www.soloelectronica.net/PDF/moc3020.pdf would be a suitable equivalent to the CPC1035N in this diagram. It looks good to me but thought I'd check with you folks who may have more knowledge that I. I don't want to damage the radio.
