Hi Gordan,

I have a good internet connection, 100 Mbps upload/500 Mbps download with 5-10 ms latency and I can use a direct connection to the internet. PC & e-coder is at my home and SunSdr at remote location ~ 120 Km away. I have some ports opened in my router and I operate like I have the transceiver on the local LAN. I use an E-coder where I have a manual key connected and a foot switch (for SSB). I have a microHam DigiKeyer II that is not used at the moment and I'm thinking to connect the CW output of it to the E-coder instead the manual key, perhaps it should works. But anyway, I'm waiting the remote implementation from EE, perhaps it will be on the event scheduled for May this year.

Hello Dan,
I would like to know how can you operate the pro2 remotely without the VPN.
It is a issue I am trying to solve from the beginning. I found that opening some router ports was not enough for me.
It is off topic here, but would be glad if you could help me in a private email or in another thread.
Any help from eesdr team would be appreciated as well. Any of the published manuals talk about it.

For the color issue you could try to ask the 5M official forum. It is on google groups platform

Hello Enzo,

See below some guidelines,
1. at remote location you will need to have a good internet connection, it is important to have at least 20 Mbps upload speed
2. Also very important is latency, if you cannot have latency below 10ms it will not work as it should be, from my tests, if you have 4-6ms, CW,SSB, Digital are working, if you have 10-15ms, CW is still working but you have issues with SSB and Digital, above 15-20ms I think you can forget about directly remote over internet
3. For best result if possible, use the same internet provider on both locations
4. On remote location use a static IP for SunSDR
5. On remote location configure port forwarding for 50001, 50002, 50003 (these are default ports for RX1, RX2 and BS), I'm also using RemoteSync on 50040.
6. If possible use the same routers on both locations, I'm using two identical Asus
7. At your location use a PC with a static IP
8. configure port forwarding for the same ports as on the remote router (Theoretically it should work without this but in my tests it didn't work until all those ports were forwarded to the PC IP)

That is all, if you have more questions please send me an e-mail.

And about external keyer ... I've just read on 5M forum that they are not supporting WinKeyers, .. I can still use microham but in the traditional way using CW and PTT COM ports and not the Winkey port but this doesn't help me.

- and how to save different macros (F1-F12) for different contests like in N1MM
In the CW/SSB Macro Settings you can only save the default settings (for what I know). Anyway I am finding the ESM system much smarter than the Macro system. With ESM you just need three or four settings.

Hi Enzo & Dan, about saving F1-F12 settings
I asked the same question on the 5MContest Google Group.
The answer is that once you have set up your F1-F12 Macros etc you save them in Profiles.
Go to Files/Profiles give your settings a name & save it. When you want to do that contest again, open it up in MINITEST & call up the saved Profile

Hello Ray,

thank you very much for the information.
In the past i never used profiles because I operate only in cw. Anyway I'll ad the information in my pages.
I read you also asked for other helpful shortcuts that I'll go to list in my pages as well.
