RX out not working 28 Oct 2023 18:04 #1

I connected a separate SDR to the SunSDR2-DX using the RX out connector. Unfortunately there is no antenna signal there. Why is the RX Out socket dead? Do I have to activate this in the software?

Torsten!
read the manual
The RX OUT connector is the output of the transceiver’s receive path. When the ADC IN is enabled, the
signal (received on the HF path from the active antenna input) goes to the RX OUT. An additional filter
or box of switched filters, preamplifier, attenuator, signal divider, etc., can be added between the RX
OUT and ADC IN connectors. To use it RX OUT:
Select ADC IN, in this case the signal goes either: A1 ANT (for VHF) A3 ANT (for HF)-> internal BPF->
RX OUT -> there you put your external BPF/ATT/PREAMP -> ADC IN

I had even read the manual several times, but I didn't understand the section about the RX out. That's why I asked for help here. Now I understand the principle. I would like to thank you for the help here in the forum.

Hi Torsten -

I too have an SDR Play, and despite re-reading the manual several times, it was not clear to me that RX OUT could NOT be used for another receiver (like the SDR play) to simply "tap" the "active antenna input." It would appear that ADC IN and RX OUT are reserved exclusively for "switched filters, preamplifier, attenuator, signal divider, etc."

It's that "etc." that got me, and the lack of any explanation that ADC IN and RX OUT must be used together.

Is that your current understanding? Can anybody else weigh in?
