Well, like many of you, I think the SunSDR pro 2 DX is excellent .... when working.
But I have catalog of faults which have ruined the ownership experience.
Support has been good but the lack of circuit diagrams for me has meant I can't repair my unit.
After going back to dealer for new relay for VHF, I then lost the ability to program the unit. The boot loader refused to load.
I then had to make up an RS232 lead and plug to add the boot loader.
This was done online with an EE engineer.
Again, very good support.
Next thing was the PA reported loss of firmware.
I then had to send it back to Taiwan!!!
Couldn't be reprogrammed anywhere but the factory!
They upgraded to Gen 5 while there. At extra cost.
Was working for two weeks when suddenly locked into tx with 8A showing on PSU
One side of the heatsink was very hot.
I had to unplug the power lead.
Back to support. WS suggested I check voltages on some IC's.
Yes... they had blown.
I replaced them but still not RX or TX.
Eventually traced to intermittent external power lead which may have put power glitches through the system.
At this point I give up. Expert Electronics refusal to supply full circuit diagrams has stopped me proceeding,
I was happy to give written assurance that the diagrams were for my use only but still not forthcoming
So it's a door stop now.
Will offer for sale as parts I think.
Hope all have better luck than me.
Although it does look like most of my woes were caused by power lead.
