No Greenlight indicator + no power below 10w out from SunSDRdx 24 Jul 2024 11:28 #1

Hello,

I left for vacation and once returned just powered on my SunSDR2 dx to listen to the bands. Looks like my radio did not like to be left behind! The radio was not plugged to the grid with no antenna connected in my absence so this is not due to some storm or electrical issue while i was not there.

As a preliminary comment i would like to say that the SunSDR2 DX connects to the EESDR3 latest version and the software runs ok but:

New behavior:
- Power and connection LED indicator: No greenlight indicator blinking at connection and no remaining green although the sunsdr is connecting to the computer and runs EESDR3. The led is "off" until i transmit then it turns red as it should be.
- The SunSdr2 is receiving ok. I have not seen anything strange.
- The SunSdr2 is transmitting ONLY when i caliber the power over 10w.. below that threshold no power out. At 100% the power out is 100w or so.

I have not touched anything, or updated anything. Looks like a hardware issue to me but i cant see what happened. :|

Any thoughts please?

Best Regards

Erwann, LB1QI

Erwann ... Power OFF SunSDR2DX. Unplug the LAN cable from SunSDR2DX. Power DX ON. Greenlight blinking? Power voltage OK?

Hi Pibo,

did just that and no difference.

The LAN led works at the back of the SunSdr2 dx and the power voltage to the plug is 13.8v as usual. I can hear the distinctive "click" sound inside the radio when i switch it on.

I could understand that the "green connection led" burned on the front side (although the red works) but it does not explain why the transceiver refuse to transmit below 10/15w on all bands.

Well, i have tried as there are few options left indeed and i lost connection (no calibration). Green led still not working. So definitely an issue with the SunSDR2 DX. I will email Roman and discuss around.

Thanks for trying :)
