I am also wondering why this is done this way.
Maybe to make it more kiss....for the less technical user?
Let's hope this will change again to the better...

Just echoing the sentiment in this thread. We need to be able to control AGC threshold in ESDR3.

I'll hold out , I really feel EE wants to make those feature available m, but at the same time they want to make the software easy to use for the basic user. If a so called "Pro" version that has the abilities for more adjustments etc. Then I have no ill feeling to pay a small amount for those features that offer me more control and adjustments to Suite my individual needs.
In the link below he mentions the pro version a couple times one at around 43:14

I too would pay a fair price for a "pro" version with additional flexibility (at minimum, user AGC settings like slope, attack, threshold, etc.)

SunSDR's hardware is already competitively priced, for those of us that need the extra functionality to put the "icing on the cake" I feel like it'd be worth it.

Loving my SunSDR2 DX - if I could fine-tune my noise floor for optimal weak signal work via AGC-T I'd be in heaven :D

For the sake of correctness, in the last video, Vasily already talked about AGC-T control.
It should be there from the very first release 3 as you can see from the picture below.
The big complaints are about the other AGC controls already missing from the 1.3 release.
Anyway let them do their work :so_happy:

That is incorrect I am sorry to say. AGC in the picture is merely RF gain renamed. And if you follow Roman's stated road map for ESDR3 you will see that it is not to be implemented on launch but will be revisited at a later unspecified date. In any case, AGC-T though useful in 1.2 should be a per band setting outwith the global RF gain. Each band has its own noise level, therefore the threshold should be set on the 'knee' for each of those bands.

I do not believe anyone on here is trying to prevent them "from doing their work", for the sake of correctness.

Hello Erik,
I had a suspect about this but I saw many times Vasily's video, without getting this underlying information.
This anyway doesn't change the whole picture of the matter. Having used a Flex for many years I found the AGC-T control, with slow/mid/fast/off presets, good enough for almost any working conditions. Of course a "per band preset" is far better.
Also, I don't think (nor said) anyone is trying to prevent them from doing their work, but I wouldn't be surprised if in a year, we will be still here talking about missing features.

Very true, Enzo. Everyone has a choice - have an Expert Electronics radio or some other. Meanwhile we vent a little out of frustration. But it's the same here or with Flex or XYZ.

There are far worse issues with some SDR rigs then us EESDR users not having a AGC-T at present.
I have really been trying hard to not bash a particular brand I am just going to leave it as that!
Please do not email me and ask for help I no longer will be part of this, If I could delete /remove my profile I would do so.
