ExpertSDR3 crash with macOS BigSur 11.7.10 ... "is not a Qt plugin" 16 Sep 2023 09:56 #1

Hello Team. I'm trying to run ExpertSDR3 on my MacBook Pro 11,1 i7-2,8GHz equipped with latest BigSur MacOS 11.7.10
No luck, never starts ... just crash.
Looking into log (see attached), I see multiple issues with error "is not a Qt plugin"
I also check backtrace.dump into EspertSDR3 dubfolder but it is a empty file
Any clue?

I did a quick verification ...

macOS BigSur 11.7.10 with ESDR3 v1.0.3Beta = perfectly works
macOS BigSur 11.7.10 with ESDR3 v1.0.4Beta = not working

Likely linked with openssl brew upgrade.

Note that when using brew, openssl is currently an alias of openssl@3, when ESDR3 should be referring to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Note that Qt versions builds used for 1.0.3 and 1.0.4 are different. If I recall correctly 1.0.3 Qt 6.2-6.3 was used, when 1.0.4 was build with 6.4 and above - there were chnages in ssl support fo *nux OSes

Hence, you may try two options:
1. Upgrade to Monterey (minimum), it is fixed there
2. If HW does not support macOS upgrade, then reinstall openssl to @1.1 in Big Sur
