Well it's official coal. We were told dec 25 final release, from what I just read EE is saying May. I'm sick of the lies. Rome knew when he replied a week ago. Don't care how anyone tries to explain this away. Your reputation is only as good as the foundation you build and we have been shown where this company stands.

Gutted :wall: !!!

Why dangle more carrots when they haven't delivered on past promises ?
"Among other innovations will be:
extended reception range up to 800 MHz (for SS2DX/PRO/MB1);
ALC; "

Must think we are all donkey's !!

Happy Christmas.....

@Rome, yesterday after a heavy Christmas meal and a good dose of radiation (at the current time both my amplifier and the coax bridges suck) I came up with this ridiculous idea :

Why dont you approach this mi0bot guy with a bottle of fine vodka and good financial proposition in order to port thetis for our suns ?

I am thinking, as far as understand your income is coming purely from hardware and software is necessary liability, until now at least, no ?

Thetis seems a real promising open source software platform but has a serious hardware problem. They are two edges only, the anan series machines which are quite expensive and the hermes which lies on the baufengish side of price and quality.

I detect a large gap in between. That is for me is a huge opportunity, especially if you consider the big and active community behind thetis.

To be honest I am truly in love both with my sunsdr and eesdr3 as hmi regardless the expectations yet to be fulfilled. But to have the opportunity to choose between two different paths regarding software for the same piece of hardware that I so much like, well its hard to describe my (bit horny)ham feelings.

I dont know about you Rome but I see good profits down that path..

They could start with v2 and ilet t go open source as it's not supported any loner with updates and such . let the ham community have access to fix it .

First, I'd say I hope all EE personal a great New Year!. Secondly their country is at war and under great ecopolitical duress. The fact they continue as a company is extraordinary surprising under the sanctions their country is experiencing. EE has shown resilience normally seen in a capitalist economy.

I say cut them some slack folks. They have great software products and I've no doubt they will get the job done. Their ecopolitical situation is not of EE making.

Rome ignor the nose,

So 2 years ago when they claimed it was working on esdr2 why wasn't it released? The videos are out there just need to watch it. If you want to believe the bs excuse you typed by all means. But they claim they have been working on full duplex when the gen 1 was released and here it is gen 5 then the last min they say it will be pushed another 5 months. Its a repeating pattern. If you would like I'd be happy to sell you my sun sdr2dx or maybe Rome or Vasily would like to buy it?

My Hermes towers above the sdr2dx with the thetis software no doubt. Nr is 2nd to none. Paired with a 100 watt amp I prefer it. The plus about EE is TCI. I will be the first to say it. Thetis coded for the EE products would be awesome. The big downside to the design of sun sdr2dx is if adaptive predistortion came about you would really need to pick up the signal on the outbound side of the amp for it to apply the correction. if using just the 100 watt sun it would be fine but 85% of hams use amps.

There are two types of people: fountains ans sinks. Fountains produce new while sinks only deal in waste. Have you ever designed and coded very complex systems? Sell you SunSDR stuff and go to Yaesu, Icom, Kenwood, Flex, or Anon or quit sniveling like a 10 year old!

First of all, thank you, Bill!

Second, of course there are no thoughts about going open source, it's not even a question.
Only when you control development of hardware, firmware and software, you can create something truly effective and uniquely good. This is our way.
There are other ways, like when one company designs hardware, some other guys design firmware and then another third-party or even a group of unpaid enthusiasts develop software. Yeah, it makes your hardware way cheaper, you don't have to develop and maintain software/firmware, you don't have to create manuals and pay developers, etc. but what you get in the result is absolutely unpredictable. This is not our way.

Happy New Year, guys! Let's not create a holy war here)

K6TWO What my truth upset you well to bad. It's not complaining when everything I said is the truth. I'd be happy to sell my rig with the lack of features. What's your offer because no one else is wanting to purchase them. They just sit on the market. Said it before and it stands true I want EE to succeed it's good for business to have competition. Just tried of last min excuses. So what is your offer. Buy it and I'll see myself out.

Rome I'm not here to attack nobody like the others on here who resort to it.when I state my opinion. The other members on your forums always reply with the same basic statements without reading and having basic comprehension. From past performance I'm not holding out any hope of completion with the features stated. I'll post it one more time for all I Hope You. Prove Me Wrong. I like how the forum moderator took half of a conversation and started this post. Also another opinion you might not care for Rick but if he is removed from the forums the help videos and links to setting up should be removed as well. .Rome wrote:

Truth is factul, your truth is your opinion. Yes they mis deadlines, who hasn't? Look at Flex! Again few users ever understand the complexity of product development and deployment. Unless you have done that you have no appreciation of the difficulties. Add to that thier ecopolitical environment and you have a greater chance of failure than success. You whining is not helpful nor enhancing your cause. Successful people know failures are the bricks that line the pathway to success. Are you still looking for your first brick to success?
