Question: Will the PRO run ver2 with the ver3 firmware installed? ver3 required a firmware update to run properly on my PRO. When I went back to ver2, I got a message that I was running the wrong firmware so I reinstalled the older firmware. Do I really need to change firmware when I move between ver2 and 3? tnx 73

I use both without constantly changing firmware. I do get the attached screen shot message when I launch v2 but I click ignore and all works fine.
My v 3 is 1.0.7 beta Build 12012024

I woud avoid words "works fine" Paul. Sound from heaphones connector is not working and you never know what else is not OK. I dont think new firmware is just "botox" update.

Well there you go I have learnt something new, just tested and quite right the headphone socket doesn't work on v2.
Now I was sure I had read in the past that it was OK to do what I have been doing, but maybe I imagined it.

A much more useful response may have been
"Even though v2 appears to work on the newer firmware some of the functions don't work, the headphone socket for example. There may be other things that don't work as expected so I would recommend using the correct firmware for the version you are running."

Surely we are all just trying to help each other out where we can?
