I've changed the EESDR3 Windows PRIORITY to high and will advise in a follow up post. However I've had the same issue under Ubunto 20.04! I'm new to Ubuntu so I do not know how serivices are priortised . All machines hav I7 8000 series or higher with 16G ram. Even the Linux machine!
CPU usage is less than 3% according to EESDR3!

Look at entire over all system performce not just EESDR

Use taskmanager and look at all of the options- somthing may poke its ugly head at you.

Network? Is SUN connected directly to PC or via router? I hope that you are not using WiFi.

I tried today to give EESDR 3 a high priority like in V2 and seems to have fixed my dropouts considerably.

Having to do that , confirms a PC resource issue with your configuration

I'm only running Chrome (QRZ.com) and Log4OM. I'm still getting drop outs even when I give EESDR High Priority. What should I look for?

lets start with basics

List the entire PC configuration (specs including videocard)

and as Pibo said how is your Rig connected to your network
list network configuration- any switches or routers how are they configured static IP assigments DHCP, are routers bridge mode or otherwise
what brand /model oif switches or routers
if using 2 NIC cards has the oine with Rig been given a lower metric number to increase its prioirty orver an wifi or other network card
What version of windows down to build number

Hello Pibo

just an FYI i moved from a B450 series to a Asus TUFF GAMING X570-PLUS: saw a nice increse in data throuhput esp between the 2 M.2 pci4 samsung pros, if you decide to look at otjher MB in future of upgrade give that one a look at- I choose non WiFI model as not a fan of WiFi , but that also have that option if need be. Also soundcard on board is fantastic as well. www.asus.com/us/motherboards-components/motherboards/tuf-gaming/tuf-gaming-x570-plus/

First my apology for not responding faster. I've been testing processes prorities and obtaining data to seek a resolution for RF drop out. I hope to have a detailed results posting in a couple of days. I'm try your hypothesis. Bill K6TWO Since 1956.

First off my current system:
EESDR2DX with ESDR1.0.3 BETA Build 10022023
Dell AlienWare M17R5 CPU RYZEN 7 6800H 3.2GH 16GBmem 64 Bit
GPU RYZEN 6700M 10GB mem
EESDR2DX Via Ethernet to ATT Router via Ethernet to Alienware Computer.
Windows 11 Build ? latest Update 2023-04 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5025239)
I've us Ethernet cable direct to the computer during testing with no change in outcomes.

Now here is a key data point. This is the fourth Dell computer that I have used with EESDR3, all flavors and EESDR2 Ver 1.3.1 update 11 and I have noticed the same phenomenon on all systems, hardware and software! And I've tried it in UBUNTU 22.04 with the same RF dropout occurring.

Now the results of changing priority settings for EESDR3: on this Alieonware system, Winn11, I increased the priority to "(High and again later to Realtime)" and still had failures of RF drop out during transmit! I've tested the above named changes on two different computers and get the same results. It is random and unless your watching the Power output meter, you will not know RF output stopped! Unkeying or VOX time out will restore RF Output. Changing VOX sensitivity, delay, or threshold have no impact. When using a hand mic PTT keeping it keyed, while talking several sentences over a ten minute period will generally produce the phenomenon. It is not the PA timeout feature in the DX.

I've noticed that it seems more frequent when, at the pause between sentences, while speaking in a flowing verbalization of a subject.

This should help other to verify my findings or disprove them .

If it is a rescource issue is it not a programmers issue. Most of us are not IT trained or computer scientist so most of use don't know more than what Expert Electronics documents. I leared how to change a programs processe priority, but how in all the listed processes am I to know what to look for! I'm not an IT Tech, I'm an 83 year old that loves my EESDR2's! It would be helpful for others to run a series of test I've described to see if the issue can be relicated. If it is a processe issue, maybe testing by someone that is IT trained can spot the issue.

Thank you all for your help on this. I'll try learning new stuff, but becoming a IT or Compter Scientist is not in my future. Agai THANK YOU ALL!
